looking for a way to ease into v-day?

February 11, 2009

i don’t know about you but i hate valentines day… somehow, even when i’m in a relationship, it never seems to go well. there’s always so much pressure to do something special, or make it a particularly important or fun night, when in fact, i think my dad is right, we should always just show our love. truth is, most of the time i’m newly single on valentines day, and that just makes me hate it even more. i can’t really decide what’s worse: having a bit of a flop valentines day with a boyfriend i care about while everyone around us seems to be having the perfect one, or being single while everyone around me seems to be in a relationship.

solution: missbehave magazine‘s evil prom! even the folks who know they’re going to have a great coupled time the next day show up ready to bash valentines day… and who doesn’t love a “costume” party anyway?

see you there!

i don’t think she was saying valentines day has to be all about sex or jewelry, or that she’s found the right person and that it sucks anyway… but more that the amount of pressure put on the day is way over the top. why do we need to place so much importance on such a random day anyway?
