A Bit of Fur

January 25, 2009

The last time I was home, I found an old, round, white fur hat sitting in my closet. I’d forgotten about it because my grandmother gave it to me when I was in high school, when the big Russian ear-flap hats were much more the thing. It’s a beautiful hat, made of rabbit fur, and although it has a large hole in need of some care, it is still quite usable. I was very excited to find it because it’s beautiful and warm; I wore it out a few times, and received lots of compliments. I left it at home when I returned to school, in part because I think unless I go somewhere very special, or very cool, not that many people will appreciate it here, and in part because I want to get it fixed.

Imagine my delight, and surprise, then, when the other day, Refinery 29 posted a whole thing on how these hats are returning to the forefront of fashion. You can check out the post here, and I’ll add a picture of my hat ASAP.
