Good Lord

September 22, 2008

Herzog & de Meuron have released the photos for the new project in New York- at 56 Leonard in Tribeca to be specific. The tower (if that’s what you want to call it) will be 57 stories, containing 145 residences, each with their own floorplan and outdoor space. The prices will range from $3.5 m to $33 m, and you can move in come Fall 2010. Can someone please explain to me though, how this monstrosity fits in with the feeling or aesthetic of Tribeca? Sure, lots of new buildings are going up in the neigborhood- not a block away, we were begining to worry about the building that is now nearly complete at 34 Leonard. That building however proved to be in keeping at least somewhat with the tone of Tribeca as a whole.
